The Spanish lyrics of La Golondrina (The Swallow) use the image of a migrating swallow to envoke sentiments of longing for one's homeland. The song is also known as: The Mexican 'Home Sweet Home'
Original recorded by Seņor Carl Francisco in New York in June 1906 Victor 16065
Felice & Boudleaux Bryant provided the English lyrics She Wears My Ring. The original version with these lyrics was recorded by Jimmy Bell (1960 Hickory). Also re-released under his real name of Jimmy Sweeney in 1962 on the Buckley label.
First guitar instrumental of La Golondrina was recorded by Chet Atkins in 1955.
